Website Design and Programming

For photographer Erik Madigan Heck, we designed and developed a website constructed around a painter’s palette. His extensive archive of photographs is searchable via a color chart, and all images are shown over complementary colors instead of a traditional white backdrop. We created an algorithm that analyzes each image to determine its dominant color. The algorithm runs automatically after Erik uploads an image. The background of each photograph layout uses the automatically determined dominant color.
